A Fortune 500 investment and insurance company generates sales for its 401K product by sending customized printed proposals to each prospect generated by its broker networks. These 48-page color proposals were produced by a private supplier that had programmed a proprietary, non-upgradeable system to create the document packets – when suddenly they closed their doors. The investment and insurance company needed a solution – and fast.

John C. Otto and the resources of affiliate Consolidated Graphics (CGX) came to the rescue. The CGXSolutions team used Pageflex software to recreate templates for all 42 versions of the full-color proposal and 60 accompanying one-color documents in just 45 days. The Pageflex templates incorporated data streamed in every 30 minutes during the business day from a sales database into the proposals for specific businesses.

With the previous system, PDFs had to be made manually and posted on the FTP site for the company staff to access. Now, the CGXSolutions system automatically generated two PDFs – a printer file and a web file. The printer files were sent to both full-color and black and white digital printing units, processed daily, and shipped out overnight to prospective clients.

Previously, any edits or updates to the program had to be performed by the outside vendor. Now, this investment and insurance company has made another wise investment, purchasing the Pageflex software and training staff to edit templates and maintain the system themselves. This will save them much time and money for years to come.
